New Campsite Latrine

The funding secured and demolition has begun at the latrine between campsites 9 & 10. This marks the official start of upgrading these units to an all new facility better suited to serve our participants. The new campsite latrine will have 6 all in one full bath units consisting of a shower, sink, and toilet. Individuals will be able to enjoy a personal space for getting cleaned up after a busy day at camp.

While the master plan currently is to replace 4 of our 5 campsite latrines, we are still short on funding for the other 3. These new upgraded structures cost approximately $100,000 to complete. Your help is needed with securing the remaining funds to help bring this much needed improvement to Camp Barstow.

How can you help? Simple, visit https://indianwaters.org/give/ and make a donation to our 2025 Friends of Scouting Campaign, make sure to leave a note that it is for a new campsite latrine. It takes just 100 people to donate $1,000 or 1,000 people to donate $100 or a single person/company to donate $100,000 to make the next latrine upgrade possible. Any amount helps to reach our goal for continuing to make it #BetterAtBarstow.

Not able to give financially? Help is also needed with getting the old latrine taken down. Join the Barstow Bears, the third Saturday of each month starting at 8:00am at the Ranger’s Shop to lend a helping hand.
