Maker space director
The Maker Space Director is responsible for planning, supervising, and leading all Maker Space programming at Camp Barstow, combining both handicraft and technology-based activities. This leadership role oversees 4-6 Maker Space Staff, ensures safe and effective use of tools, equipment, and technology, and develops engaging, hands-on learning experiences for Scouts. The Maker Space Director fosters creativity, problem-solving, and STEM/STEAM skill development while upholding Scouting values and maintaining a safe and organized environment.

Maker Space Staff are responsible for delivering engaging, hands-on, and educational experiences in both handicraft and technology at Camp Barstow. Staff members teach 21 merit badges, mentor Scouts in creative projects, and provide guidance in areas such as woodworking, metalworking, electronics, robotics, coding, 3D design, and other STEM/STEAM-based activities. Maker Space Staff model Scouting values, encourage curiosity, and help Scouts develop practical skills while fostering creativity and problem-solving in a safe and supervised environment.
