CLIMBING DIRECTOR
The Climbing Director is responsible for planning, supervising, and leading all climbing and vertical adventure programs at Camp Barstow. This includes rock climbing, top-rope, bouldering, rappelling, and other climbing-related activities. The Climbing Director ensures safe, engaging instruction, enforces strict safety protocols, manages climbing equipment and facilities, and mentors both Scouts and climbing staff. This role provides leadership to 2-3 Climbing Staff and works closely with the Program Director to maintain high-quality, accredited climbing experiences in accordance with Scouting America and industry safety standards.

COPE DIRECTOR
The COPE (Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience) Director is responsible for planning, supervising, and leading all COPE and ropes course programs at Camp Barstow. This includes high- and low-ropes elements, team-building initiatives, challenge courses, and related activities. The COPE Director ensures safe, engaging instruction, enforces strict safety protocols, manages equipment and facilities, and mentors both Scouts and COPE Staff. This role provides leadership to COPE Staff and works closely with the Climbing & Program Directors to deliver high-quality, accredited experiences that promote personal growth, teamwork, and Scouting values.

COPE/Climbing instructor
COPE/Climbing Staff are responsible for assisting with all COPE (Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience) and climbing programs at Camp Barstow. Staff members lead Scouts in high- and low-ropes elements, climbing walls, bouldering, rappelling, and other vertical adventure activities while ensuring participant safety and skill development. COPE/Climbing Staff work under the supervision of the COPE and Climbing Directors to maintain safe, engaging, and educational outdoor experiences that reflect Scouting values.
