Aquatics Director
The Aquatics Director is responsible for the planning, supervision, and safe operation of all aquatics programs at Camp Barstow. This role provides leadership to 8-10 aquatics staff, ensures compliance with Scouting America and local safety standards, and delivers high-quality instructional programs including 10 merit badges and 4-6 recreational aquatics activities. The Aquatics Director serves as a key member of the camp leadership team and a positive role model for staff and Scouts.
Boating Director
The Boating Director is responsible for the safe operation, instruction, and supervision of all boating programs at Camp Barstow. Working under the direction of the Aquatics Director, the Boating Director leads 3-4 boating staff, delivers high-quality instructional programs, and ensures all boating activities meet Scouting America, Red Cross, and applicable local safety standards. This position plays a critical role in providing Scouts with safe, fun, and educational experiences on the water.
Aquatics Instructor
Aquatics Staff are responsible for providing safe, engaging, and high-quality aquatics programming at Camp Barstow. Staff members teach aquatics-based merit badges and skills, supervise waterfront and pool activities, and serve as positive role models for Scouts. Aquatics Staff help ensure that all participants have a fun, educational, and safe experience while upholding the values of Scouting America.
