Outdoor Skills Director
The Outdoor Skills Director is responsible for planning, supervising, and leading all traditional Scoutcraft and outdoor skills programs at Camp Barstow. This includes camping, pioneering, fire-building, survival skills, navigation, orienteering, wilderness first aid, and other Scoutcraft activities. The Outdoor Skills Director ensures safe, engaging, and educational experiences, provides leadership to Outdoor Skills Staff, and fosters Scouts’ growth in self-reliance, teamwork, and practical outdoor skills while upholding the values of Scouting America.

Pathfinder Director
The Pathfinder Director is responsible for planning, supervising, and leading programs specifically designed for first-year Scouts at Camp Barstow. This role focuses on helping new campers learn essential Scouting skills, develop confidence, build teamwork, and transition smoothly into the camp experience. The Pathfinder Director provides leadership to 3-4 Pathfinder Staff, ensures safe and engaging activities, and fosters a supportive environment where first-year Scouts can thrive while embracing the values of Scouting America.

Outdoor skills instructor
Outdoor Skills Staff are responsible for assisting with all Scoutcraft and traditional outdoor skills programs at Camp Barstow. Staff members help teach merit badges and skill sessions in areas such as camping, pioneering, fire-building, navigation, orienteering, wilderness survival, and other Scoutcraft activities. Outdoor Skills Staff work under the supervision of the Outdoor Skills Director to provide safe, engaging, and educational experiences that help Scouts develop confidence, teamwork, and practical outdoor skills while upholding the values of Scouting America.
