Range & Target Sports Director
The Range & Target Activities Director is responsible for planning, supervising, and leading all range and target-based programs at Camp Barstow, including archery, rifle, shotgun, and other precision or target activities. This leadership role ensures safe and engaging instruction, enforces strict safety protocols, and mentors Scouts and staff in skill development, marksmanship, and outdoor recreation. The Range & Target Activities Director oversees 3-4 Range Staff, manages equipment and facilities, and ensures compliance with Scouting America, County, State, and Federal safety standards.
Archery Director
The Archery Director is responsible for planning, supervising, and leading all archery programs at Camp Barstow. This includes merit badges, skill sessions, recreational shooting, and special archery activities. The Archery Director ensures safe, engaging instruction, enforces strict safety protocols, manages equipment and range facilities, and mentors both Scouts and staff. This role provides leadership to Archery Staff and works closely with the Range & Target Activities Director to maintain a high-quality program aligned with Scouting America standards.
Range & Target Sports instructor
Range & Target Activities Staff are responsible for assisting with all shooting sports and target-based programs at Camp Barstow, including archery, rifle, shotgun, and other precision or recreational target activities. Staff members provide hands-on instruction, ensure participant safety, maintain equipment and ranges, and serve as positive role models for Scouts. This position helps ensure all activities are fun, educational, and conducted in accordance with Scouting America and other safety standards.
