Monday nights at Camp Barstow you are invited to come visit Leech’s Mercantile up on the Rifle Range and take part in our brand new program – Cowboy Action Shooting. Thanks to the hard work of our Indian Waters Council Shooting Sports Committee led by David Leech we are now offering this exciting program at camp. Scouts who take part in this twilight activity will receive classroom and range instruction on how to safely handle, and shoot a .22 lever action rifle, .22 single action revolver (pistol), and a 20g double barrel shotgun.
The only catch is the Guide to Safe Scouting and other rules limit this activity to Scouts who are at least 13 and have completed the 8th grade. Furthermore, Scouts must have their parents sign a release waiver (download here) to take part. Scout leaders will be able to take part as their is space.
